Cyan Bae (b. 1993, KR) is a visual artist and researcher based in the Netherlands. With a background in graphic design and visual journalism by training, Cyan works primarily with moving image, exploring felt experiences and embodied knowledge intertwined with socio-technical systems. As part of the ERC-funded project Security Vision, their current research investigates power dynamics and strategies of resistance around Emotional AI technologies in the field of security. Cyan’s works have been screened and awarded at international film festivals.
배채연은 네덜란드에서 활동중인 시각예술가이자 연구자이다. 그래픽 디자인과 비주얼 저널리즘을 공부한 뒤, 영상 매체를 중심으로 사회기술적 일상과 엮여있는 감각적 경험과 체화된 지식에 주목하며 작업을 이어가고 있다. 현재는 유럽연구이사회(ERC) 지원 연구 과제인 시큐리티 비전(Security Vision)의 일환으로, ‘감성 AI’를 둘러싼 권력 구조와 이에 대한 저항 실천을 연구 중이다. 주요 작품은 국내외 영화제에서 상영 및 수상했다.
